Auctioned by Dorotheum in 2014. Description from auction lot: Chassis number 126 makes this Merak a very early example. According to a DEKRA-expertise from 1988, commissioned by the previous owner, the Maserati had been extensively rebuilt between 1985 and 1988, which had put the car in very good state. It was repainted in 1985 and the engine was overhauled. The consignor bought the car in 2005 to bring a bit of Mediterranean flair into his collection. He had the tyres renewed and the dashboard covered with new leather. His relationship with Swabian products made the Maserati see only little use, though. Well maintained the Merak’s condition hasn’t changed and therefore a new owner can be looking forward this mid-engined design-icon, full of Italian 1970s flair! | ||||||

This car was featured in the “Quattroruote” magazine, on the 10th of October 1972, during the premiere of Merak model. In addition, this car was also used in the Italian movie “Mani di velluto” with Adriano Celentano. | ||||||
